Your Zane Pool Heating Dealer will provide a Warranty Commissioning Certificate to certify the solar pool heating, pool heat pump or gas heater installation has been installed to Zane design standards and have tested the system to ensure it is functioning correctly. The home owner has been shown how to use the system and operation instructions have been handed over.

CUSTOMER PROTECTION PLAN TERMS AND CONDITIONS
THE DEALER AGREES TO:
- Complete all works described herein within the stated period. This period may be extended for reasons beyond the Dealers control such as inclement weather, strikes, lock outs, acts of God, non-availability of materials or delays caused by other contractors.
- Perform all installation work in a good and workmanlike manner and in accordance with the procedure and instructions as laid down by the solar component manufacturer or supplier.
- Inform the Purchaser of their warranty rights and obligations as detailed under the warranty below and to act on behalf of the Purchaser in any warranty dealings with the component manufacturers or suppliers.
THE PURCHASER AGREES TO:
- Supply free of charge and when reasonably required, such water and electric power as may be necessary for the installation and operation of the solar system and applies to domestic and commercial installations.
- Accept responsibility for the condition and performance of any existing or future plant and equipment not forming part of the solar system as this is beyond the Dealers control.
- Make payment of the total purchase price as invoiced on completion of the commissioning procedure as laid down by the solar component manufacturer or supplier. The inability of the Purchaser to put the system into use because of inclement weather, delays in other works or any other such factors beyond the Dealers control will not provide sufficient cause for the withholding of payment either in part or in full.
WARRANTY-CUSTOMER PROTECTION PLAN
On the signing of this agreement the Original Purchaser becomes eligible to cover under Zane’s Gulfpanel Customer Protection Plan which automatically comes into force as from the date of commissioning of the system.
The liability of Waterco Limited and/or its Dealer is expressly limited to the cover provided under the Plan as detailed in full below and is conditional on the Purchaser operating and maintaining the system according to the Operating Instructions provided with each system. For the first 10 years of this warranty, Waterco Limited will provide replacement material or repair existing material at their discretion free of charge, subject to the general terms and conditions contained herein.Repair and/or replacement of faulty Zane components as follows:
MATERIAL
- A 10 year full warranty on the Gulfpanel solar absorber material, plus 5 year warranty on a Pro-rata basis. (Year 10 to 15 at 50% of List Price).
- A further 2 year full extended warranty on the Gulfpanel solar absorber material, plus 13 year warranty on a Pro-rata basis with Warranty Certificate. (Year 13 to 25 at 50% of List Price).
- A 2 year warranty on controller, except for probe and lead.
- A 12 month warranty on all other Zane components.
LABOUR
- 1 year absorber replacement or repair.
- 1 year replacement or repair of controllers, except for probe and lead.
- Generous repair or replacement of all other Zane components for 1 year.
- A 2 year warranty on dealer installation and workmanship from date of installation.
The warranty covers the repair or replacement of any Zane component deemed by Waterco Limited to be faulty and Waterco Limited may, at its sole discretion, elect to either repair or replace any such faulty components.
The warranty expressly excludes any claim arising as a result of owner negligence or as a result of any other cause beyond Zane’s control including any claim arising from any of the causes specified as Specific Exclusions below. It is also subject to the following General Conditions.
ROUTINE SERVICES
We recommend the solar system be inspected annually by the owner or Zane Dealer (owner to arrange) for correct operation and possible water leaks from storms or wildlife attack which may cause roof and gutter damage from the pool water if left in disrepair. Regular inspection and tightening of the unions connecting the panels should be carried out.
It is possible that some routine service calls to your premises may be required during the warranty period. A service charge will be levied in such cases. Examples of such calls are:-
- Freeing and/or clearing blocked or jammed valves, motors and pumps.
- Clearing blockages in the solar absorber array.
- Recalibrating electronic controls or equipment.
- Repairs to the solar system occasioned by any of the specific exclusions detailed below.
- Any adjustment or advice required as a result of failure to correctly follow the operating instructions provided.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
- The Zane components having been purchased from an authorised Zane outlet.
- The owner being the original purchaser and providing proof of purchase in regard to date.
- The owner and/or dealer having lodged with Waterco Limited within 90 days of date of purchase or before the expiration of any extension thereof as approved by Waterco Limited in writing, the “WARRANTY CERTIFICATE” supplied by Zane, duly completed by an Authorised Zane Dealer.
- Zane’s liability for the labour cost of repairs being limited to the times allowed in their standard scale of warranty labour rates applicable at the time of carrying out repairs.
- The owner bearing the cost of travelling time to and from the servicing dealer’s premises – plus accommodation at ruling rates for work done outside of a 20 kilometer radius.
- The owner bearing the cost of freight and/or postage to return any faulty component to Waterco Limited, provided that Waterco Limited will meet such costs if the failure should occur within 90 days of either the original date of purchase or the date of any subsequent repair.
SPECIFIC EXCLUSIONS
- Damage arising from unauthorised tampering or unauthorised repairs to any equipment or materials.
- Damage caused by or arising from work performed by installation contractors or failure to correctly follow installation instructions.
- Damage to the absorbers caused by any chemical containing or based on any hydrocarbon (e.g. turpentine, kerosene, lighter fluids and solvent based adhesives other than those recommended and distributed by Waterco Limited through its Authorised Outlets expressly for use with its products).
- Damage to the absorber caused either directly by or as the result of the use, mis-use or non-use of chemicals used for water treatment.
- Damage caused by or resulting from any trade work carried out on or near the solar system or caused by equipment operated within the total swimming pool plumbing cleaning, purifying and filtration systems, but not supplied and installed as part of the original solar system.
- Any damage resulting from storm, tempest, bacterial or chemical attack or any accidental damage (note: Insurance cover for such damage is the owners responsibility and we recommend you advise your insurance company that you have had a solar system installed).
- Operation of the system other than in accordance with the operating instructions supplied with the system and with any ancillary equipment.
- While Waterco Limited and its Authorised Dealers exercise all possible care in the design and installation of their system, they cannot accept responsibility for the condition and performance of any existing equipment installed by others, as the use to which this equipment has been or will be subject to, is beyond Waterco Limited’s control.
- Damage to metal roofs and gutters or any other consequential damage caused by chlorinated or salt water leaking from the system. Any leaks regardless of cause should be repaired immediately, so that corrosion cannot occur.
- Any damage resulting from, animal life except as stated below.
As we have no control over the type of chemicals used in water treatment or the manner in which such forms of treatment are administered, it is the owner’s responsibility to ensure such forms of treatment are suitable for use with our products and they are used in accordance with the chemical manufacturers and/or suppliers instructions.
7 YEAR LIMITED WILDLIFE DAMAGE WARRANTY
Waterco Limited will supply a limited wildlife warranty which covers the owner against damage caused by wildlife for a term of 7 years from the date of commissioning as follows:
Material Years 1and 2
- Waterco Limited will pay the cost of the replacement Gulfpanel or for the items required to repair the existing Gulpanel. The option to repair or replace will be at Zane’s discretion.
- Waterco Limited will reserve the right to take secondary action if required to prevent any re-occurrences.
Material Years 3 to 7
- Waterco Limited will replace any wildlife damaged Gulfpanel at 50% of the then current recommended retail price.
- Waterco Limited will reserve the right to take secondary action if required to prevent any re-occurrences.
Labour Years 1 to 7
- Labour – any other charges involved will be paid for by the homeowner.
- NOTE: – These goods remain the property of the Dealer until complete payment has been received.
